Other illustrators I found
Lizzie Finn
I like her work as its heavily influenced by textiles, she uses free machining to create the images. The simple lines are contrasted with the colours of the material and the cream background.
Lisa Solomon
I really love how she uses a colour chart to sew images over the top. It brings out the natural colour of the image she uses e.g. she uses the yellow colour chart as the middle of the daisies are yellow.
Petea Callesen
This piece is really effective as there is two different techniques being used. the simpleness of the white paper on the green background shows off the cut out of the man. I like how each character looks like their holding onto each other because it looks like its telling a story. The drawing of the man in the middle breaks up the white paper and adds a personal touch to the work. I like how the piece is finished off in a frame as it makes it look like a better composition.
Eleanor Bowley
Bowley also creates textiles illustration, again using free machining to create the image. The boldness of the red material on the cream enables the image to show up by using free machining.
Nina Chakrabarti
The use of different coloured lines looks good with the writing. I like how the words match the drawings as its really pretty and beautiful.I like how it looks like a large doodle and then finished off with the bold red shape near the top.
Michelle Thompson
Thompsons work is very bright and has a strong sense of collage. I like the mix of cut outs with her drawing and bold colours with scribbles of paint and crayon. Its really random and fun.
