Using coils to create a pot.

To make this I had to roll bits of clay then adding each one on top of each other, starting with thin coils at the bottom then gradually making them bigger. This make the pot get wider in the middle.

I then smoothed all the coils together making the pot look smooth and stronger. I used a clay knife to slice the top part of the pot off making it flat. To do this I held the knife slightly through the clay then slowly turned the pot adding more pressure to the pot.

 

Pinch pot

The pinch pot is created by getting a small amount of clay and making it into a ball then using my thumb and index finger I gradually pinched the clay creating the middle bit then around the edges pinched it even more. This makes the clay even all the way around.This is a simple technique and is quite quick for making a pot.
