Illustrators

Sara Faneli
I like this work as its like a collage, the different textures and writing makes the sentence more interesting.

The use of bright colours goes well with the neutral colours and gives off a youthfulness about her work, it also seems very playful.

David Hughes

His work is fun and shows he has a good sense of humor. I like how he uses messy lines to create the images with a painted under coat to add colour.

Ezra Jack Keats
Keats creates covers for childrens books, they are very bold with bright colours, he creates these by using watercolours.

Ronald Searle

Searle paints a lot of cats which are very comical and have human like characteristics. I like how he uses black pen over the watercolours, this creates a detailed and delicate drawing.

Matthew Richardson
I like how he uses random images in his work, they look like cut-outs from different bits of paper-magazines etc. The mixed media makes the pieces stand out more and its not just drawing.

Laura Carlin
Carlin creates images for books. She made the image above by cutting out the shapes and standing them up so it creates a shadow behind each shape. I like how she does this as she doesn't just draw something as she is bringing different elements into her work.
Some of her other work on the other hand is very illustrative. This image is created using paints and pencil crayons, its very different to the image above as its more detailed.
