Decorating a wooden cube with bits of shaped metal.
I started off by drawing parts of an object zoomed in, drawing another over the top, trying to create shapes.
I found a shape which i like and is outlined in dark pencil above.
I then went onto adding this shape into a broach and ring design.
We then went into the metal workshop to start experimenting with the different tools and metal, making the metal decorative.
using the vice to hold the cube whilst I attached the metal.
I used little nails to fix the metal on. These were also used to hammer little holes in the metal.
I used the electric roller to roll a piece of metal wire.
This was created using the electric roller with dints in creating indentations in the metal.
I used the fly press to mould a metal grid to create squares then with the blow torch i burnt it, this changed the colour, I like how it goes from black to blue to copper.
I used the electric roller to thinly roll the metal then I used the drill to drill little holes.
My finished cube. I like all the different shades of metal and how each bit fits into each other.
